Playing Fishing Games

Fishing is a great sport for so many reasons: the adrenaline rush that comes with bringing in a twenty pound salmon, the drama of the life or death fight with a fish while your friends are cheering you on in the background, the quiet and stillness of sitting reading a great book and relaxing while you eagerly await the inevitable tugging at your rod or just the feeling of accomplishment of filling up the freezer with free food.

Fishing is an enjoyable pastime for those who either own or have access to a boat, but what about everyone else? The rest of the world can experience some of the same fantasies through fishing games. These fishing games come in a variety of different forms either on the computer or on a gaming unit such as the Nintendo X-Box, Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation or even the plug and play one game handsets that plug directly into the television.

The Most Realistic Fishing Games

If you are looking for realism, the Wii probably does that best job of it since you can hook the controller right into a faux fishing rod attachment that you use like a real rod and reel. The controller will also vibrate and shake, imitating how it would feel if you had a real fish on the line.

The great thing about fishing games is that they are not all easy. Sometimes you have to wait until a fish shows up, and just because you catch sight of a fish doesn't necessarily mean that it will bite or that you will be able to reel it in. It still requires a certain amount of patience and practice to become good at it.

But there is no shortage of things to do on the fishing games for some great entertainment, starting with fishing derbies, practices, fishing races or just a good old pond fishing with the sound of fake birds in the background on a super huge flat screen TV. If you can’t get out to go fishing for real, then playing one of these fishing games is your next best bet.
